Paper 1 Exam Title: ‘Shakespeare and the 19th Century Novel’
Duration: 1 hour and 45 minutes

Shakespeare: ‘Macbeth’
Students will be given an extract from the play and a question based on this extract- they must also make links to the play as a whole in their response.
Section B:
‘A Christmas Carol’
Students will be given an extract from the novel and be expected to answer an essay style question based on the extract- they must also make links to the novel as a whole.
Total marks available: 64
Paper 2 Exam Title: ‘Modern Texts and Poetry’
Duration: 2 hours and 15 minutes
Exam Weighting: 60%
Section A:
An essay style question based on ‘An Inspector Calls’.
Section B:
The poetry anthology question. Students will be given a question based on 1 of the 15 poems, they must then compare the poem to another out of the 15.
Section C:
Students will be required to compare and analyse two unseen poems.
Total marks available: 96
